LegalTerms of Service
These terms govern your use of FileLocally (https://filelocally.com), operated by Sanka Ventures ("we", "us"). By using the site you agree to them; if you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. The service
FileLocally provides free, browser-based file utilities (image conversion and compression, image⇄PDF conversion, PDF merging, SVG⇄PNG conversion). All processing occurs locally on your device; we do not receive, store, or transmit your files.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) use the site for any unlawful purpose or to process material you have no right to process; (b) attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer the served code for the purpose of attacking the service, or scrape the site at abusive volumes; (c) interfere with the advertising that funds the site through automated or fraudulent interaction.
3. Your files and your responsibility
Because processing is local, you retain complete ownership of and responsibility for your files at all times, including their legality and any backups. We recommend keeping original copies of important files: conversions are one-way transformations and some (such as lossy compression) intentionally discard data.
4. No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Output quality depends on your browser's encoders and your source files. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or any loss of data, profit or business, arising from use of the site. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under the law of England and Wales, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
6. Intellectual property
The FileLocally name, design, and site code are our property or that of our licensors. Open-source libraries used by the site (including pdf-lib and PDF.js) remain subject to their own licences. You retain all rights in your files and in the outputs generated from them.
7. Advertising
The site displays third-party advertising served by Google AdSense. Advertisers are responsible for their own content; a served ad is not our endorsement.
8. Changes and termination
We may modify or discontinue any tool at any time. We may update these terms by posting a revised version with a new date; continued use constitutes acceptance.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence.
